Dr. Harvey Powers is a man of many talents: pastor, Bible teacher, clinical psychologist, consultant, conference speaker, and professor. These rich and varied roles over the course of 30 years of professional practice serve to anchor his work with individuals firmly in the rock-solid foundation of experience.  Yet even beyond his extensive professional background, Dr. Powers is a man who understands on a personal level the challenges and complexity of living in a fallen world, the pain and joys of leadership, the hope born of redemption and transformation, and the grace of God in that for all of us.

He is currently the president and founder of The Redimere Group, a faith based non profit that focuses on leadership development and transformational processes for faith based leaders and their organizations. He specializes in the training of emerging and re-emerging leaders, sabbatical planning, assisting leaders in crisis, and in developing existing leaders from across the nation and internationally. He is a sought after as a speaker, trainer, mentor, and consultant for ministry and business leaders.

Dr. Powers earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1985 from George Fox University \ Western Seminary, in Oregon. He is a licensed clinical psychologist and an ordained minister. Dr. Powers began his career as associate pastor of an inner city multi-ethnic church in Philadelphia after he graduated with a B.S. in Bible from Philadelphia College of Bible in June 1977.

Dr. Powers worked as a psychologist for several Christian organizations including the Minirth-Meier Clinic in Richardson, Texas and as the assistant director of counseling services at Dallas Theological Seminary. He developed a private clinical practice in 1987 in Garland, Texas. In 1992 he moved to Colorado, joining People Care Associates, L.L.C. in 1994. Dr.Powers provided psychological services focusing on medical psychology, abuse issues, family problems, marital issues, and personality disorders.He has provided professional and corporate training in areas such as conflict resolution, stress management, and effective communication.

In 1997 he joined Life Enrichment in Parker, Colorado, as the director of counseling, education and training. In 1999, Dr. Powers became the co-founder and Executive Director of Leadership Development for The Pharos Group, a faith based non-profit that focused on leadership and organizational development.

Dr. Powers currently serves as an adjunct faculty member of Denver Seminary, Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and, in the past, served as an adjunct faculty member of Northwest Graduate School of Theology. In addition, he has experience teaching in the areas of leadership, counseling, conflict management, abuse recovery, and marriage and family issues at other institutions, conference centers, and businesses across the country. Dr. Powers is an experienced clinical supervisor of other therapists. Dr.Powers has received training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR trauma therapy, and biofeedback. Dr. Powers offers internet based video therapy via a secure Zoom platform.
